New partnership delivers high quality tooling for important maintenance and race support work.
Castle Combe Circuit and Castle Combe Racing Club are pleased to announce a 2018 partnership agreement with DAMAR International / SONIC TOOLS.
SONIC TOOLS, now Official Tool supplier to Castle Combe Circuit, will supply the Castle Combe Maintenance team with new hand tools, tool boxes and more, to be used for everything from general maintenance to fixing Armco fencing and repairing support vehicles.
Les Rawlings, Site Manager, commented
“it is vitality important to us to use high quality and reliable tools when we are repairing Armco fencing on race days. When you are under pressure to fix important infrastructure you can’t afford to be let down by poor quality equipment”.
Tom Davis, Sales and Marketing Manager, said
“We spend a considerable amount of money on replacing hand tools on a regular basis and we have proven that using cheap is not cost effective. It seemed like the perfect fit for our brand when David from Sonic Tools approached us.”
David Martin from Sonic Tools comments,
“Partnering with a circuit like Castle Combe is a huge achievement for SONIC TOOLS. With almost 70 years of history and their need for high-quality reliable tools we were delighted to be able to work together.”
It won’t just be the circuit that benefits from a fresh new set of tools but also each of three home grown championship winners will be eligible to win a fancy new toolbox at the end of the season. Championship Coordinator, Jo Lewkowicz, commented, “It is always great to offer our competitors something to win after all their hard work throughout the season and we know how much tools can cost”.
It also intended that a small range of hand tools will be available to purchase on track days for those who need an extra screwdriver or adjustable spanner…

A few moons ago we announced an ongoing project that we kept under wraps for just under a year, posting a few hints on our social media accounts. Then on October the 27th we announced it to the world and man did the classic car nuts go crazy!
We have been working hard alongside TV star and petrol head Paul Cowland from the smash hit TV program Turbo Pickers and his partner in crime and treasure hunter Drew Pritchard from the massively popular TV program Salvage Hunters.
Now I know what you’re thinking a petrol head and a treasure hunter? Why are the classic car nutters going crazy? SIMPLE they have just announced their brand new tv show together, “Salvage Hunters Classic Cars”.
Salvage Hunters Classic Cars will be aired on Wednesday the 17th of January 2018 on Quest TV where Paul Cowland, Drew Pritchard and their trusty mechanic Adam Hornby will save and transform rare classic cars found in scrapheaps into gems that every classic car fan will drool over.
Quest TV even posted some sneak peeks of the new show on their YouTube channel and man oh man it looks good check one of them out below:
So that’s all well and good but why have we, Damar International got involved with this TV show? Well think about it, we sell some of the best automotive tools and equipment on the planet so when you’re saving a classic car from the scrapheap what do you need? A big hammer, spanners, sockets, pliers and screwdrivers for a start so Paul Cowland came to us asking if we could help him out and our answer “of course we can” so we slowly but surely started to equip Paul Cowland’s garage “Landspeed” with the best automotive tools in the business from Sonic Equipment.
As so the first thing we gave Paul Cowland was a Sonic Equipment S10 Tool Trolley full of every single hand tool you need to look after and repair classic cars, including a metric and imperial socket sets. You can see mechanic Adam Hornby looking after one of land speed customers below using Sonic Tools away from the TV cameras because even TV stars need to work surprisingly enough.
You might catch a glimpse of this tool trolley and the tools on TV and if you wanted to get your hands on some of this top range equipment as seen on TV and used by the best In the business when it comes to classic cars then contact your friendly and professional Sonic Equipment agents Damar International Ltd.
So there only one last thing to say and that’s to remember to check out Paul Cowland and Drew Pritchard’s new TV program Salvage Hunters Classic Cars on Wednesday the 17th of January 2018 on Quest TV and make sure to set it to record in case you miss it!

Damar International the UK suppliers of Sonic Equipment enter a strategic partnership with the leading Renault UK Clio Cup team, Pyro Motorsports.
Team Pyro was formed in 2003. Its staff has over 25 years’ experience working within the following motorsports scenes, The BTCC, FIA GT, WRC, F3 and various one off national championships. Team Pyro has the professionalism and expertise to win and they have!
Team Pyro has been dominant in the Renault UK Clio Cup since 2008 with drivers such as Ben Winrow, Phil Glew, Dave Newsham, Ashley Sutton and Mike Bishell to name a few.
The Renault UK Clio Cup is one of the biggest and most attended races within the UK’s motorsports scene, Affordable budgets, a product high in quality, supreme technical expertise and pulsating on-track action in front of the biggest crowds and a captive live TV audience are always a recipe for success in motorsports and the Renault UK Clio Cup has got the lot.
All 18 of the Clio Cup’s races take place at the British Touring Car Championship’s high-profile events – meaning average trackside crowds of more than 38,000 people and, at every event, live free-to-air television coverage across the UK via the IVT4 channel.
No other motorsport “package” in Britain comes even remotely close to achieving such vast levels of exposure making it perfect for Sonic Equipment to grow their brand in the UK thanks to the help of Pyro Motorsports.
Team Pyro is well known in the paddock of the Renault UK Clio Cup not only for winning and winning well but also for their extremely professional set up making them stand out from the crowd and other motorsport teams.
This is perfect for Sonic Equipment as their professional products stand out from other similar brands that are already involved with the BTCC. Many of the Pyro staff have already heard and used Sonic Equipment meaning that they trust the brand being used in such a competitive environment.
As part of Damar International Ltd's strategic partnership with team Pyro, they have been provided with not one but two limited edition Project Performance tool boxes full of tools from Sonic Equipment for Pyro to use at the race meetings.
The Project Performance filled tool box is based on the Sonic S12 tool boxes and complete with 432 tools. The foam inlays are exclusively designed with a black hard cover and a new tool content which include the latest twister ratchets, impact sockets, power-impact sockets with steel ring (these are 7 times stronger than the regular versions), long extensions, reversible ratcheting wrenches, disc ratchets and much more. A tool box and contents for the best PERFORMANCE!!
(Sonic Equipment Project Performance now available for pre order from Damar International Ltd - 01162 746 144 - firstname.lastname@example.org
Pyro has also announced that they may be entering the TRC Championship next year (2018) with the announcement earlier this month that the TCR concept will head to Britain next year, Pyro is now planning a full campaign.
“I think we can run two to four cars if we have the interest,” said team boss Mark Hunt. “We’ve got one client already that wants to do it.
“We’ve also got a brand new Honda Civic that’s our own car that has not been used yet. I’m very pleased with Honda – the customer support is second to none. I can ring up anytime between seven in the morning and 10 at night and speak to them.”
Hunt believes TCR UK will be the perfect stepping stone between Clios and the British Touring Car Championship.
“It’s between the budget of Clios and touring cars but the same speed as touring cars,” said Hunt. “It’s good for people who can’t afford the step up to BTCC – I think it’s a hole in the market that needs filling.” There are currently 20 TCR series across the world with some, such as TCR Germany, attracting massive grids for opening seasons.
There are currently 20 TCR series across the world with some, such as TCR Germany, attracting massive grids for opening seasons.
Hunt thinks TCR UK will also be a success, but that it might “take two or three years”.
As part of Sonic's Partnership with Pyro, Sonic Equipment will also have a presence within the new TCR championship so keep your eyes out for that.
As we at Damar International Ltd continue pushing the Sonic Equipment brand in the UK and compete against other masive tooling companies we feel that we had to diverse our marketing strategy away from the main stream methods and we have found this to be working for us.
Now that we have teamed up with Pyro In the BTCC this gives the Sonic logo a masive amount of coverage on ITV 4, Social Media, in the paddock and other marketing materials that will help promote our brand.
Also seeing one of the biggest and most successes teams in British motor sports, Team Pyro using Sonic Equipment will our products look more professional and other people will want to get their hands on it.
This marketing strategy has worked for Sonic America and Sonic Europe allowing them to grow and compete in a very large and saturated market against other weill know cimpanies such as Halfords, Snap-On, Mac Tools and Laser Tools.
We are looking forward to our partnership with Team Pyro as we continue to grow the Sonic Equipment brand in the UK.

How Sonic came to the Uk and How we met Peter Felix?
Sonic Equipment came to the Uk January 2016 after the Volkswagen Group asked us at Damar International ltd who were already well known for supplying tools to Volkswagen such as the automotive brand “Hazet”. They asked us to service the VAG Volkswagen approved tool boxes. This was because if Volkswagen lost something out of the trolley Volkswagen could not get a replacement, they would have to order a complete new unit.
After the first month of supplying Sonic Equipment in the UK we quickly realised that hardly anyone has heard of the brand, although Sonic Equipment is massively known Europe and the USA (otherwise known as "Sonic Tools") thanks to their marketing strategy they used to compete against other major brands such as Snap-on and Mac tools.
So, we decided to do what we do best and make small unknown tooling brands grow in the Uk. We first started advertising in magazines such as Performance Audi we quickly became friends with the owner of the magazine who gave us an amazing offer we couldn't turn down.
We were offered to share a stand with Performance Audi and Revo at the biggest car and motorsports show in the UK the "AutoSports International car show! at the NEC in Birmingham on the 12th January to the 15th January 2017.
We made many important contacts at this show and this is where we first met Sean from Jade Development and racing driver and ARDS Instructor Peter Felix who we quickly found out used to race in the VW Cup and the Clio Cup.
Due to our tie in with the Volkswagen Head Office in Milton Keynes and the fact we needed another way to the brand "Sonic Equipment" better known in the Uk we stayed in-contact and considered what we could do to support/sponsor Peter Felix as he planned to return to racing later this year after a large break due to lack of support.
Who is Peter Felix?
Peter Felix is 47-Year-old born on the 5th of February 1970, He now lives in Hinkley, United Kingdom and is a Grade S Racing Instructor and professional drier. Peter Currently does a lot of work for his friends at Driving Gift who do driving experiences and passenger laps in super cars such as a Jaguar F-Type, Aston Martin DB0, Lamborghini Gallardo, Arial Atom and many more around tracks in the Uk and sometimes offer drives on the Donnington Park GP Circuit.
Peter first started Karting in 1985 to 1987 then in 1988 he started racing in ff1600 till 1993. Peter moved to saloon car racing in 1995 competing in the XR challenge he counted racing in this championship till 1998 where he then moved on to mini racing in 1999 to 2002.
From 2002 to 2006 he raced in many different championships and cars, such as stock hatch in Peugeot 106 rallye 2002, mg roverZR and mg rover z 1 just to name a few. If you want to know more about Peter's complete race history check out his driver bio here> PETER FELIX
In 2008, he moved on the Clio Cup Uk the in 2009 he moved the VW Cup racing and winning many meetings till 2012 when he went back to Clio Cup racing until 2016 but had to stop after the first meeting due to change of plans.
So, as you can properly tell Peter has a lot of experience behind the wheel of many different cars and knows many circuits around the UK.
we look forward to supporting Peter Felix in his up and coming race later this year and his races next year (More to Follow)
Special Message from Peter Felix: “Special thanks to my mum-dad and my partner Sharon for putting up with late nights. Thanks to driving gift for support on and off the track.”
Sonic Car Unveiling
French Car and VAG Tuner Live Show
Damar International Ltd attended the French Car Show at Donnington Park on the 15th of July and the Milltek Sports VAG Tuner live show on the following day. We had two pits and access to the track day so we could host passenger rides.
We attended the show with Jade Developments who had their proper race set up on display with proper boarding and the complete Sonic Equipment SWS (Sonic Work Station) they also brought Shanel Drews’s Michelin Clio Championship car along for the French day so Driver Peter Felix could offer visitors to the stand passenger laps in Shanel’s beautiful Clio that also had to Sonic Equipment Stickers on the bumper.
We, Damar international Ltd also had a selection of products on display such the Volkswagen approved German automotive tooling brand “Hazet” the German pullers “Kukko” as well as “Worx All Natural Hand Cleaners” and of course we had a massive Sonic Equipment section with complete tool trolleys such as the SWS, S9, S12 and a complete Volkswagen Tool trolley in our special VIP Room and Drapers new socket set range.
The VAG Show was the biggest day by far for the team, not only did we have a load of VIPs including managers and master technicians from Volkswagen and a few other VIPs we invited down we also launched Peter Felix’s Sonic Equipment Volkswagen Golf GTI Race Car after months of planning and communication!
It looks cool but how quick is it?
The Sonic Equipment Race Polish Volkswagen Golf GTI driven by Peter Felix, looks amazing thanks to Luke Pinder at City Signs and Graphics and the car races at supersonic speeds and sticks to the track like glue.
Front wheel drive, Remapped to 350 BHP with 7 Speed DSG Automatic Gear box and steering wheel shift, Custom body kit for aerodynamics, ATS wheels, the latest generation AIM GPS telemetry and complete Milltek exhaust system. All this makes the Volkswagen super quick and in the hands of a proper racing driver such as Peter Felix it will fly around a track with no problems at all.
When this car did passenger laps around Donington on the VAG Live Tuner show two of the lucky staff from Damar International Ltd got to go out in the car with Peter behind the wheel. They came back to the pits and got out the car absolutely buzzing and had a massive smile on their faces even our VIP from Volkswagen loved the car!
We can’t wait to see the Sonic car pushed to its limits on circuits all over the Uk when Peter enters his first race later this year, watch out everyone
THIS VOLKSWAGEN IS SONIC… SUPERSONIC THAT IS!
