At Damar International Ltd being one of Castle Combe Circuit sponsors under the name Sonic Equipment we were invited down to the award night they hosted in Bristol. We met some amazing driver, family members and the hard working team who keep the heart of Castle Combe Circuit ticking.
Whilst at the awards night we spoke to one of the organizers and mentioned we would like to give a Sonic Equipment toolbox to the “Marshal of the year” as a prize, after one of our very own staff members found out how important Marshals are in the world of motorsports after having an accident of his own at Silverstone Circuit the week before.
Richard Beard who is the Marshal Secretary at Castle Combe Racing Club had the difficult task of picking the marshal of the year, he chose Neal (see photo) to win the Marshal of the year and had this to say about him -
“Neal has long been a supporter of the club and circuit, certainly for as long as my records go back. He has carried out various roles on the bank including Course, Flag, Incident Officer and Post Chief. Recently he has helped out in Race Control and is now a key member of our Training Team, both planning and presenting sessions.
Neal is truly a worthy winner as whatever the role, Neal will rise to the challenge." - Richard Beard - Marshal Secretary
After spending the past couple of years within motorsports we at Damar International Ltd have always been impressed with how quickly and professionally marshals deal with an incident and make sure the driver/s involved are safe and the rest of the field can carry on racing as soon as the red flag is raised, and the green flag is waved.
It goes without saying there is no racing without marshals and they need recognising!
We salute you the “Orange army” keep up the hard work
